16. Qualification and experience

Director:
The Met Film School offers a master degree in film making. This course  takes directors through the process of production, from script to screen, focusing on the core elements of visual language, narrative storytelling and performance. This course is for 12 months and consists of 3 phases. The key skills of a director is to have good leadership skills, a strong positive attitude and patience. 

The Met Film School also offers a masters degree in screen writing. On this course students will learn how to turn their stories and ideas into viable screenplays as the all-important template for film, television and online content. This course is also for 12 months and consists of 3 phases. 

Acting: 
Acting for film level 1- is a screen acting course who wish to develop their acting skills for films. This level 1 is taught by a professional actor and and professional film director this course lasts for 4 weeks and is full time. 

The Met  Film school also offers a young actors academy. This course is for 14 to 17 year olds who want to learn professional screen acting skills. This course is taught by an acting course and professional film director. The key skills of an actor is to be confident, versatile, positive minded and work well with others.  

Editing:  
One year practical film making course is an intensive and highly practical course aimed at those dedicated to pursuing a career in film. By the end of the course you will have written, produced, directed and edited; with the support of a professional Script Editor and Editor; three short films and numerous exercises, the last of which will be your graduation film made over a three-month period.

Masters in film making- The program is led by experienced filmmaking practitioners, including directors, writers, producers, editors, and post-production picture and sound specialists, and consists of a series of modules dedicated to each pathway. Each student on the program will complete a portfolio of filmmaking projects, plus a final Masters research or production project. The key skills of an editor is to be patient, strong minded and able to work well with others. 

Visual effects and Animation:
visual effects for film- The six-month Visual Effects for Film course which starts with a three-week introduction to Maya, Nuke and related software. The topics covered during this intensive period of study, are all based on standard production pipelines used within the industry. 

digital animation- The six-month Digital Animation course begins with a three-week introduction to Maya, Nuke and touches upon other related software that will be used during the course. The topics covered during this six-month intensive period of study are all based 
on the standard production pipelines used within the industry. The key skills of an animator much like an editor is to have patience, hard working and work well in a team. 

Cinematography 
This one year course is designed to provide intensive practical and theoretical training in cinematography for both film and television. You will work alongside industry professionals and with the latest technologies to develop your expertise and knowledge in this discipline.

Advanced cinematography- The Advanced Cinematography course provides a two-week, in- depth experience of current camera and industry practice. It allows you to familiarize yourself with the differences between shooting still and motion pictures. The key skills of a cinematographer is to have a good sense of visual composition, effective communication skills and work work in a team.
