Vertical integration is the combination in one firm of two or more stages of production for example not only do Disney own the Disney resorts, they also own companies such as ESPN. Horizontal intergration is when a company takes over another similar company in order to increase market share for example Disney took over Marvel studios, now disney take a portion of the money that marvel make.
Vertical integration in disney means that disney own all the stages of production so disney release the films in their cinemas and release the films on their DVDs. Horizontal integration in the BBC means that if the BBC film an interview, they can broadcast that interview on all their channels.
