A 3D television (3DTV) is a television set that employs techniques of 3D presentation, such as stereoscopic capture, multi-view capture, or 2D-plus-depth, and a 3D display – a special viewing device to project a television program into a realistic three-dimensional field.
There are several techniques to produce and display 3D moving pictures. The basic requirement is to display offset images that are filtered separately to the left and right eye. Two strategies have been used to accomplish this: have the viewer wear eyeglasses to filter the separately offset images to each eye, or have the light source split the images directionally into the viewer's eyes.

Satellite/ Cable Television:

Satellite TV tuners are also available as a card or a USB stick to be attached to a personal computer. In many areas of the world satellite television provides a wide range of channels and services, often to areas that are not serviced by terrestrial or cable providers. Cable television is a system of providing television programs to consumers via radio frequency signals transmitted to televisions through coaxial cables or digital light pulses through fixed optical fibers located on the subscriber's property, much like the over-the-air method used in traditional broadcast television in which a television antenna is required.

High Definition Television:
High-definition television (HDTV) is video that has resolution substantially higher than that of traditional television systems (standard-definition television). HDTV has one or two million pixels per frame, roughly five times that of SD. Early HDTV broadcasting used analog techniques, but today HDTV is digitally broadcast using video compression.
Pros:
- Better quality of image
- watching programs is more enjoyable
Cons:
- It is very expensive
- only a certain number of channels are high definition
Pay Per View
Pay-per-view (PPV) provides a service by which a television audience can purchase events to view via private telecast. The broadcaster shows the event at the same time to everyone ordering it (as opposed to video-on-demand systems, which allow viewers to see recorded broadcasts at any time). Events can be purchased using an on-screen guide, an automated telephone system, or through a live customer service representative.

- you can watch the channel whenever you want

- It can be quite expensive for each time you want to watch it
Digital T.V.
Digital television is the transmission of audio and video by digitally processed and multiplexed signal, in contrast to the totally analog and channel separated signals used by analog television.TV broadcast system that can transmit images with 720 to 1080 horizontal lines of resolution as compared with 480 lines of the ordinary television system.

Analog (or analogue) television is the analog transmission that involves the broadcasting of encoded analog audio and analog audio visual one in which the information to be transmitted, the brightness and colors of the points in the image and the sound waves of the audio signal are represented by continuos variations of some aspect of the signal.

- people find analog sound nicer and easier to listen
Cons:
- recordings can be bad
- copies of the original copy can be noisier
Interactive T.V.
Digital television can also offer 'interactive' services where you, as the viewer, can control what you see or take part in surveys, quizzes and games.
Some interactive services need to have a telephone cable connected to the set top box so your instructions can be sent to the tv company over the phone line.

On Demand
Video on demand or audio and video on demand (AVOD) are systems which allow users to select and watch/listen to video or audio content on demand.
Pros:
- simpler content delivery
- it is more convenient because you can watch the shows you want whenever you want
Streaming Content:
Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end- user while being delivered by a provider. Streamed data can be any data that is delivered from a server to a host where the data represents information that must be delivered in real time.

- You can use FTP or a web browser to download
- There are plenty of legitimate websites where you can download music, apps etc safely
Cons:
- FTP client can be awkward to use
- use virus and malware scanners to make sure the file is safe to use
- You do need a reasonable connection speed in order to download
Smart T.V.'s:
A smart T.V. describes a trend of integration of the Internet and features into television sets and set-top boxes, as well as the technological convergence between computers and television sets and set-top boxes.Smart TVs are also typically DLNA certified, enabling the sharing of movies, photos, music and similar multimedia content from other DLNA-compliant PCs, tablets, smart-phones and similar devices.
